So at some point I hope to spend more time putting some of my wool work onto my blogspot. But not today. I have a printers dead-line date to meet!

I spent 4 weeks in Malta so that I could be there with my daughter for the birth of her first child. A beautiful little boy called Reece. Here he is just a few minutes old. It was a very hot 43 degrees on the day he was born. So he did not need any of grandmar's woolies for sure!

It's been some time since I posted anything. But then I have been very busy being a New Grandmar.

Samuel arrived safely into the world in April. The Reece arrived safely into the world in August. I was already grandmar to my dear beautiful little Sophia. She is the light of my life seen here with her new baby brother.

And here is the finished cushion, a simple flap-over design trimmed with three coordinating tassel toggles.

This is the third item I have made on my loom, the other two items being scarves. The loom is warped up for another cushion, this time I have used a chunky yarn and the new 5 dent heddle I bought at Woolfest this year.

I had woven the required length I needed but still
had some warp left. I continued weaving with
light blue Lambswool/Angora to use up the
remaining warp.

Current Projects

I am working on a weaving project using a fine commercial yarn.
It's a 2/28s count, 30% Lambswool, 70% Angora.
I hand dyed the yarn using Kemtex dyes.
Above shows the warping on my Rigid Heddle loom.

Weaving

About Me

My Name is Anne Warwick

and I have a passion for working with wool. I love the smell of fleece in the grease. Most people think I'm mad because they think it stinks! But for me it's a fond memory of my childhood. It's a safe, warm and comforting smell.
Working with wool - I just love spinning it, weaving it, felt making with it, dyeing it, Knitting it & Crocheting it. I would spend all day working with it if I could. But I am still a working woman and with that other things I am into - My Computer, well were would I be without that!! I think I love my computer as much as I do my wool work. It earns me my pennies to spend on my crafts. My daughter-in-Law and I have a small business together producing local business directories. She does the marketing and I do the Desk top publishing. A large part of this for me is designing and creating new adverts for small businesses.
I am also secretary of the Derbyshire Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers. Check-out our blogspot on www.derbyshireguildweaversspinnersdyers.blogspot.com
and see what we gat up to.
Two big events this year for me was the birth of my two grandsons. My daughter-in-law and my son had a beautiful 9lb baby boy in April and my Daughter and her partener had a beautiful 7lb 3oz baby boy in August. That makes me Grandmar now to three of the most lovely children. I am blessed.
